Mingo Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 9, 2026

Mingo is a bingo-like multiplayer game available on mingoo.io, through the Discord Activity, and through development versions such as dev.mingoo.io. This Privacy Policy applies to these versions and explains how the Mingo development team ("we", "us") processes information and how to contact us. The public website supports guest play and Discord login. Restricted development versions require Discord login and Mingo-assigned Dev or Playtester access.

Information We Collect

When you authorize the Discord Activity or log in with Discord on the website, we process your Discord user ID, display name or username, avatar URL, and authentication information needed to verify your account. The Activity also uses participant and Activity-instance information to display participants and connect them to rooms. Mingo does not request your Discord password. Guests use generated player names; the room creation interface also generates room names.

During gameplay, Mingo processes temporary game information such as room codes, room names, player names, room passwords for access checks, card numbers, marked card spaces, called numbers, selected patterns and settings, readiness and connection status, scores, and winner results. We also process playground positions and soccer state to synchronize the shared playground.

Quick Chat processes preset interactions, randomized responses, emojis, selected player references, question replies, sender information, and timestamps. Developers can also send free-text messages from the admin panel. We keep recent-message and reply context in server memory and track repeated interactions to apply chat cooldowns. Mingo chat is separate from Discord channel messages.

Browser storage may contain your generated name, saved Discord profile and game-session information, music and sound preferences, and chat drawer sizing. Tab session storage holds temporary login verification information and room reconnection information, including the room code and token. Invite room codes may appear in the address bar and browser history.

We maintain lists of Discord user IDs assigned Dev or Playtester access. These determine visible badges, development-site eligibility, and, for Devs, admin permissions. They are Mingo assignments, not Discord server roles. These assignment lists are included in the client code and can be inspected by people who download it. We also temporarily associate authenticated Discord accounts with active room sessions to prevent simultaneous play across rooms or tabs on the same game server.

Our hosting provider may automatically process technical information needed to operate the service, such as IP address, request logs, device/browser information, timestamps, and error logs.

How We Use Information

We use information only to operate and improve Mingo, including to:

Sharing Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share or process information with service providers that help operate Mingo, including Discord for Activity integration and website authentication, and Railway or another hosting provider for hosting, networking, logs, and server operation.

Player names, avatars, Dev and Playtester badges, room state, cards and marks, scores, calls, playground activity, and results may be visible to room participants. Messages and replies are visible in room chat; messages can also appear above players in the playground. Replies identify the original sender and quote the original message. Room listings can show room names, codes, player counts, and availability. Share invite URLs only with people you want to invite.

Dev accounts can enter private, full, and ongoing rooms and view information available to room participants. A room password does not exclude developers. Devs can adjust scores, kick players, reset games, and add simulated players. Room messages are not confidential communications to us. Do not share sensitive personal information through developer chat or support unnecessarily.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the safety, rights, or security of users, Mingo, Discord, or others.

Data Retention

Game rooms, gameplay state, and recent server-side chat context are held temporarily in memory while the room is active. The server keeps a rolling set of 50 recent player messages for replies; clients also limit their chat history, although system notices may be displayed separately. Quoted messages can remain within later replies after the original leaves the rolling history. Leaving a room or dropping an older message does not erase copies already received, quoted, or captured by another participant. These limits are not a guarantee that all copies disappear at once.

Browser preferences and saved profile information remain until cleared or updated. Logging out clears the saved website Discord login; clearing site data removes other locally stored information. Temporary tab storage normally ends when the browser session ends, subject to browser restoration behavior. Role-assignment records remain while needed to provide the assigned access and badges.

Server logs may include room/session identifiers, player names, connection events, and errors. Hosting-provider logs are retained according to the provider's configured retention settings for operational, security, and debugging purposes; the in-game message limit does not govern those logs. Contact us for information about records associated with your use. We delete information when no longer needed, subject to applicable legal retention obligations.

Deletion Requests

You can clear local preferences by clearing site data for Mingo in your browser or Discord client. To request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your use of Mingo, including role-assignment records, contact us at [email protected]. Please include your Discord user ID if you want us to identify records related to your account. For guest play, describe the room and approximate time instead. Do not send passwords or authentication tokens. We may need to verify your request. Removing a role assignment also removes the associated access or badge. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights to object, restrict processing, or complain to your local privacy authority; contact us to exercise applicable rights.

Children

Mingo's minimum-age rule applies to website guests as well as Discord users: you must meet the minimum age required to use Discord in your region. Guest play does not remove this requirement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child below that age has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by Mingo. No online service can guarantee complete security.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
